    TLDR: Dye colors are off and skein is MUCH shorter than it should be.I’ve been knitting for 13 years, some patterns I’ve gotten very comfortable with. Was working on a scarf I’ve made multiple times before with this exact brand and realized I didn’t have another skein and my local store no longer had a selection in stock. Ordered this hoping it would work out, I immediately noticed that the delivered yarn didn’t match even though it was the same name and number as my other label (not a subtle difference, like 2 shades off) but decided to cut my losses and use it for a purposeful ombré and remember to always buy extra in the future. I could get over the color, but I also noticed the skein was not as plump as my other store bought yarns so I purposely decided to make my knitting pattern shorter so I wouldn’t run out again. My first skein did more than 1/2 of the project so it shouldn’t have been an issue right? Even after skipping two rows and doing a knit bind off, I’m at least ~24-36 inches short than where I normally am. I’ve only ever used 2 skeins for this project and I’ve always had yarn left over in the past (my gauge and tension are spot on). Unfortunately it would take ~2 hours of picking out stitches to get it to a point I could bind off even shorter than it already is, and I’m reluctant to buy another ball for the last two rows knowing I risk it not matching again- especially because there were weird plastic stringy white fibers I kept having to pull off the yarn when I first received it. Save yourself time, go to the store, because you get what you pay for with this. If you’re just using this for a simple one off craft it would be okay, but if you’re a die hard fiber artist and calculate your projects out, this isn’t the yarn for you.

    For a skein of only 87 yards and the price you pay for one skein you would think it would be clear of knots. Nope. 6 if the 10 skeins I’ve used so far have knots. At least 2 have them within the first yard of the product. Extremely disappointed. Doubt I’ll buy this brand again.

    I have always had relatively good experience knitting with this yarn, although I agree that the colors shown are occassionally not accurate and the thickness can very, but infrequently.My issue is with Amazon’s choice of vendor. I ordered yarn for two separate projects on December 1st and it still hasn’t shipped. Not holiday projects, but waiting 3 to 4 weeks seems excessive.I would prefer going to a local small business yarn shop and purchase really high quality yarn, but have 7 afghans to make for family and this yarn is more affordable and acceptable qualityI would suggest that when making blankets, hats or scarves, using a needle size 1 ot 2 sizes larger that called for in the pattern is best. The item comes out softer on larger needles or hooks.

When buying only one at a time…which these are sold as, notice purchasing two of same color…not able to find in a package….These came in separate mailing with DOUBLE Taxation per Yarn Ball…Actually came two days apart, to separate billings…Oh Well ? 🤔

    Back in early April, I fell (or flew) down the staircase in my home and shattered my left ankle with a high impact triple compound fracture. I was lucky that there happened to be a specialist in that sort of injury in a nearby hospital because otherwise, I could have had to suffer an amputation. I am still in a boot with a cane or walker going through physical therapy, but at least he I am getting better. I’ve been crochet and knitting presents for my husband’s family feverishly in my extended down time. This yarn has especially useful and has literally saved me throughout this unpleasant obstacle in my life!

    A bit thicker than I expected. Also more ivory than white, but it is good enough on this project. I had shrunk the wool throw in the wash. I used this yarn to extend the foot and the top. It is good enough. My imperfect crochet skills allowed me to create an odd fullness, which hooks nicely over my feet when I’m lying down for a nap.

    I have sensitive skin and was concerned that it would be itchy, but I wanted to try something other than acrylic and cotton. It’s only ~20% wool, but be careful if you’re allergic to it.It isn’t the softest yarn but feels pretty good and is thick — and it stretches a lot. Solid colors are longer and thicker than multi-colors. I made 3 pairs of socks, 1 pair of leg warmers, 1 hat, 1 cowl, 1 pair of fingerless gloves, 1 triangle scarf and 3(?) double-knit scarves. Because it’s thick, you’ll finish your project quickly on Knifty Knitter clones (4 round looms and 4 long/rectangle looms.). Double-knit scarves were my favorite because it’s mesmerizing once you get used to winding the yarn around the pegs.

    The media could not be loaded. Started my first blanket for knitting and wanted a neutral colored yarn soft enough for a baby blanket. This yarn is a great color (tan with some flecks of black and brown), soft enough but not the softest. Very easy to use for beginner. love that it comes in a 3 pack for decent price! great option and will be using/buying again

    Really great quality yarn – I’ve bought other colors from them. The color is not as bright as the picture. It’s a bit more muted – kind of a blue/gray/green mix. I’m still going to use it but was hoping for something closer to the picture.

    I made a shawl using this yarn. My future grandmother-in-law likes muted colors, but I didn’t want to get just a plain black or something. No, I could FEEL Lion Brand would have something cool. This is an awesome yarn color way. It’s got some dark blues into a denimy blue, some maroons to it. It’s subtle enough that it doesn’t take over the look and make it busy, but it’s also not flat and boring.After seeing the shawl in progress, my future-mother-in-law wanted one! And the woman my dad’s dating wants one. It’s a genuinely gorgeous yarn and having spent over $100 on just THIS yarn, I have no regrets!It works up a little heavier and hotter than I’m used to, but that’s because of the wool. As a shawl, or sweater, it’s got a comforting weight to it and it feels SUBSTANTIAL. I’m using another colorway in this collection for my other future grandmother-in-law (the deep navy with denimy bits) and I can rest easy knowing both of them will be warm and feel comforted under the weight of the shawls made from this kind of yarn.I can only wait for the time I have enough time and money to make one for myself! 😅

    I’m not sure what I was thinking — this yarn is half the price at my local Joann’s and anywhere on earth would ship faster. This was ridiculously long shipping — over 2 weeks. I only buy this yarn for fast knits and for donation. It is not terribly soft but the color selection is very good.

    I am halfway finished with a knitted watch cap that I’m making for a man who rides a Harley on weekends with a gang of fellow Hog riders. As his bike and leather jacket are both black, I decided to “spice” up his wardrobe with a little heat (color) from this hat and matching cowl. When I looked at more than two dozen varieties of yarn from several manufacturers, Lion’s Wool-Ease Thick and Quick Spice struck me as the perfect match for these projects. The webpage photo doesn’t begin to do this yarn justice; its tone is a deep rust red and is three-dimensional, that is, it is iridescent in the sunlight with strands of gold, red and even black. He’ll be the Man on Fire amongst his fellow Hog riders, and they’ll want their own hats and matching cowls as well. (Hey Amazon, if you could run a sale on this yarn, then a dozen bikers will be grateful for their wardrobe additions that I volunteer to make for them! 🙂 )Another reason to choose a wool-blend yarn like Lion’s Wool-Ease Thick and Quick is its wonderful texture and reduced tendency to shed as compared with 100% acrylic. It is very soft and easy on the fingers as you knit. Having knitted a previous watch cap using Lion’s 100% acrylic bulky yarn, I noticed that this blended yarn sheds less and appears less worn when handled. That 20% wool makes a big difference. Bottom line is this: if you want to make a fashion statement, buy this yarn.

    It is often hard to get something for a wonderful lady you have lived with for as long as we have been married, but this hit the spot. I bought this for her birthday, and I could not have done better. She absolutely adores this yarn. You would have thought she was an 8 year old at the ice cream story. She is working on something with it now. I love making her happy. Happy wife, happy life.
